This was a fun day! I got to drive to downtown LA for the day and visit David and take photos of him working to use for his personal website and blog!
David is a supervisor animator who during his free time has been learning and creating test games and experiences in virtual reality (VR). His dream is create both VR games and experiences and be a part of every step of the process. From concept design to coding, to creating the story and animating what happens inside, David wants to do it all.
It was so cool to see some of the work he has already created by himself and take photos of him while he worked so that he could use these photos to add to his website where you can find his portfolio and demo reals for the multiple projects he has worked on.
David's office was absolutely unreal. Going from an open room full of cubicles in the modern world, to his private office decorated with steam punk displays in a 19th century room. Other decorations include a fake fireplace, old leather seats, and the walls hiding behind enormous bookshelves that towered upwards within inches of the ceiling, and vintage looking rug. All of this comes together perfectly into one room that makes you feel like you have entered a completely different world.
It was all so cool to see, and even cooler to be able to photograph him in his office that he designed in such detail. I will never forget David's creative space and the impressive work he has done in VR. I wish David well as he pursues his dreams, I know he will achieve them.
